Antique ladies Mahogany exercise chair. designed in the late 19th and early 20th to train equestrian riders for hours balancing in the saddle. The spring-filled ottoman in the seat is centered and balanced by bosses that are guided up and down by side rails in the frame. Beautiful turn of the century frame with rounder back and turned spindles. Hand knobs to hold in the armrests and deep chocolate leather-covered ottoman. The ottoman is freely fitted to the frame and removable/ replaceable by another of the same size. A beautiful chair with a very interesting history. Ladies Equestrian Trainer. The size is 46.5" tall, 27.25" wide, and 18.5" deep. The seat is 23" tall and 15.5" deep, and 21" wide.
The condition is good, the leather is cracked at the spring corners. The top leather at the seat is worn but intact polished leather.
