This beautiful antique English set, produced during the late Victorian era (circa 1862–1891), includes two generously sized serving bowls and two matching plates, each adorned with an intricately rendered classical ruins landscape framed by an ornate floral and scroll border. The deep cobalt blue transfer stands out richly against the softly aged ivory ground, creating a sense of depth and movement that evokes the romance of 19th-century European design and gives the group an enduring, collected feel.
This is an ideal decorator set, well suited for a dining table centerpiece, open shelving or a hutch, console or sideboard styling, or layering with other blue and white ceramics. The varied forms and coordinated scale create a visually strong grouping that displays beautifully together.

All pieces present beautifully from the front with no visible damage when displayed or in use. As expected for age, there are minor rim chips and light surface wear consistent with 19th-century English ironstone. Two bowls each have a single very small rim chip visible from the front, subtle and difficult to detect unless closely inspected; remaining minor chips and hairlines are confined to the reverse and are not visible when displayed. No restorations. All marks and glaze variations are consistent with period manufacture. less
