A beautifully detailed vintage Japanese transferware plate by Nikko, bearing the company’s classic Double Phoenix backstamp.
The creamy glazed surface features a romantic central floral bouquet framed by an ornate scrolling border, all rendered in warm sepia brown. A softly scalloped rim and age-appropriate glaze crazing lend the piece wonderful timeworn character.
Founded in Japan in 1908, Nikko used the Double Phoenix as one of its signature trademarks throughout much of the 20th century.
Measures approximately 10” across.
In very good vintage condition with age-appropriate crazing, light surface wear and minor discoloration to the reverse. No chips, cracks or repairs noted.
