I'll soon have an entire squadron of swans listed separately, so check my store. There's a double layer of gold, real gold. The stamp on the bottom is 22 kt gold, the maker's mark the classic McCoy mark from 1940's according to the specific makers mark. The technique used is typically referred to as weeping gold, or starburst. Each individual piece comes out different, but this particular piece is extraordinary. The "weeping" portion is all over, not just in one area. I'll let you check out the pictures. There's crazing on the inside of the piece, but it doesn't seem to go all the way through. It seems like more of a "crackle " finish than the stereotypical crazing. I really think it's an artifact of the process rather than true crazing. I took 2 sets of pictures, one with "warm light" and one with an overhead light. I consider the second set to be more accurate color wise and it shows the markings and the gold better, but I'm giving you both sets because they're both accurate and gorgeous. See less
