The elegant simplicity and subtle ornamentation of Louis XVI furniture perfectly complements today’s modern interiors. This beautiful mahogany starburst marquetry two-tier oval accent table with brass mounts was crafted with an eye for symmetry. The restrained neoclassical-style ornamentation of the brass mounts (acanthus, rosettes, garland and cornucopias) are classically sophisticated. It is a tall striking table that will serve wonderfully in a myriad of capacities such as a server or drinks table, decorative lamp table, entryway or center table or as a statuesque chairside or bedside table. This beauty weighs approximately 20 lbs. and measures as follows:

Overall: 32” x 26” x 17” H/W/D
Gallery/lower tier: 24½” x 15¼” W/D; 13” clearance from bottom of apron to lower tier/gallery shelf

The table’s stunning mahogany wood starburst tabletop and lower tier/gallery shelf, done in a rich umber hued stain with a wax finish, are accented by brass cross banding all-around. Tapered mahogany wood legs are joined above and below by the tabletop and lower tier/gallery shelf with a rosette garland at each shoulder. There is a slight outward curve to the middle of each leg with cornucopia brass mounts ending in straight feet with brass acanthus leaf sabots.

Exceptionally fabulous-looking and in excellent condition with age-appropriate wear. There is an almost imperceptible piece of veneer the size of a sesame seed missing on the tabletop (see photos 7, 10 & 11). In addition, one of the brass acanthus leaf sabots was mounted backwards (see photos 9 & 12) which we did not attempt to disassemble and correct. We believe this table was made sometime in the late 1920s to early/mid 1930s in the United States. There is no makers mark.

The perfect accent table to add character and style to any space and complement most any design taste.
