A late 19th century ivory porcelain ewer by Royal Worcester of England, date marked for 1892. This delicate antique pitcher is hand-painted with Japanese floral motifs characteristic of the Aesthetic Movement and Victorian era with gilt accenting the rim, handle, foot, and body with fine golden borders around each blossom, leaf, and branch. The tapered form consists of three stacked sections separated by gilt ribs. The piece remains in very good condition, measuring 8 in. height, the perfect size for a flower vase.
Full printed factory marks on base, include the 4W mark surmounted by a crown with a single dot on the left side, signifying 1892 production. The factory mark includes included the number 51 which refers to the founding of the Worcester Porcelain Company by Dr. John Wall in 1751. Registration number 17049 follows, indicating the design was registered in 1884, over form number 1047. There are additional hand-painted initials and numbers scattered around the base.
