This vintage late 19th century Continental ladies desk clock is designed with polished mother of pearl shell slabs. These slabs are embellished with patinated brass decorations ( ribboned wreaths, flaming urn & dancing women). A white porcelain enamel clock face with cobalt blue Arabic numerals & gold second hand is prominently featured high among the shell slabs. This clock presents a “tall” elegant appearance. The footed clock has a brass under belly supporting the shell slabs. This antique clock has a number of issues. The face has hairlines, some slabs overlap, stem winder is overwound & the key is missing. It is being sold "as is."
