It is a RARE … Read more This is an original cover from a French literary magazine, Figaro Illustré, that dates to 1889-1890. It is a RARE find! This is one of the first editions of the popular oversized magazine, Figaro Illustre. Figaro Illustre was a monthly supplement to the famous Le Figaro newspaper. It targeted an upper class audience with its illustrated stories about fashion, art, theater and music. It featured high quality chromolithographs by acclaimed artists on its cover and as well as in interior illustrations. It was launched in the late 19th century and it has since become highly collectible. This image is a beauty. It features a flower seller surrounded by lush flowers ready for her customers. There is a soft natural beauty to the print. The rich color tones create a warmth and painterly quality. This image makes for beautiful wall decor. It is 11.75 x 15 inches in size and comes matted in a neutral 16 x 20 inch custom mat which works in a standard size frame. Please allow time for custom matting.
