Crafted in the late 19th century, this stunning cylinder roll-top desk is made from beautifully grained quarter sawn oak and the cylinder top is of burl. A timeless piece of American craftsmanship, it features a smoothly gliding writing tray and classic roll-top design. Sourced from a historic New York farmhouse, this desk offers both functional charm and vintage elegance—perfect for collectors or those seeking a statement piece with authentic heritage. The cylinder-top that opens to reveal a multitude of storage cubbies and drawers and a pull-out writing surface. Below this is a large, central drawer that spans the width of the desk. Below this there are two deep drawers of uniform size with matching hardware and locking mechanisms. Next to these is a small cabinet. Cylinder top key is missing. The desk may have been manufactured by Skandia, a furniture manufacturer that made furniture in the 1800-1900s. I estimate this piece has been in my family for almost 100 years. It exhibits minor signs of wear including scuffs and scratches throughout. Keys are available but not functional. 35 years ago this item was restored to the golden oak finish.
