This is a beautiful vintage Capodimonte covered jar, crafted in Italy and richly decorated in the classic Capodimonte style. The piece features high-relief cherubs, scrolling foliage, pinecones, and hand-painted florals, all accented with soft pastel tones and highlighted with gold gilded trim. The lid is topped with a sculptural finial and adorned with ribbon and floral appliqués.
The jar displays the signature level of detail Capodimonte is known for—deep sculptural modeling, vibrant hand-applied colors, and intricate decorative work. A wonderful statement piece for traditional, Italian, or romantic interiors.
The underside bears the “G.V. Capodimonte Italy” hallmark with a shield and crown, along with the original “Made in Italy” sticker.
