Classic and stylish mid-century Chinese horseshoe chairs in black lacquer. I love the versatility of these vintage chairs ... wide and comfortable for seating but the perfectly flat seat allows for great display options as well. The tag on the bottom of each reads, "Cathay Arts Co, Art Carved Furniture Manufacturers, 2A Cameron Rd Kowloon Hong Kong, Made in Hong Kong Cable "Kaarts."
This pair of chairs shows patina and wear commensurate with age but is in overall solid condition (no rickety-ness). The lacquer has worn in places and both seats have drawn in a bit (as pictured). But they have a fabulous vintage look in my opinion and are still solid and functional. Condition is accounted for in the price.
Each chair measures 36" tall and 23" at the widest. The seat is 22" wide and 18" deep. Seat height is 16".
