The Modernist exhibition poster is published by The Bauhaus Archiv Museum Fur Gestaltung Berlin, printed in Germany in 1970 by Druckerei Hellmich KG in an unnumbered limited edition on the occasion of the exhibition. It features an artwork image originally created in 1929/30 by the artist Eugen Batz ( 1905 - 1986 ) titled " Farbenseminar Kandinsky, Affinitat Der Farbe Zur Form, Studie Von Eugen Batz, 1929/30 ", from The Exercise For Color Theory to Form course taught by Wassily Kandisnky, 1929 - 1930 at The Bauhaus School.

The relationship between color and form occupied the artists and teachers of The Bauhaus School very intensively in the 1920's. The search for the right color as a design and orientation tool runs through the entire history of Bauhaus. The two teachers Johannes Itten and Wassily Kandinsky and the their students developed color schemes and color systems that are still valid today.

The Bauhaus movement is one of the most significant cultural developments of The 20th Century. Walter Gropius founded this institute of design in 1919. Several renown architects served as directors of the school, Walter Gropius, Hannes Mayer, and Ludwig Mies Van Der Rohe. Famous Bauhaus artists and educators include Wassily Kandinsky, Paul Klee, Laslo Moholy Nagy, Josef Albers, and Marcel Breuer among many others.

Bauhaus was founded to explore new aesthetic perspectives and creative teaching programs for the education of architects, designers, and artists for a Post War democratic society. Today, The Bauhaus is embedded in the public consciousness, held in high esteem, and considered part of Germany's cultural heritage. The Bauhaus movement hold s a very important place in art history as the original Modernist Art school.

The Bauhaus Archiv is a state archive and museum of design located in Berlin Germany. Founded in 1960 by Walter Gropius and other members of The Bauhaus movement. The museum collection documents the history of Bauhaus in art, teaching, architecture, and design, including teaching materials, workshop models, architectural plans, photographs, documents, and a library. The comprehensive collection includes works from all the most important artists, designers, and educators of the movement. In addition to the permanent collection, each year the museum holds four special exhibitions.

The rare out of print framed lithograph print exhibition poster measures 23 3/4" W X 33 1/4" H X 1 3/8" D. It is custom framed with UV protective plexiglass in a Contemporary Modernist charcoal gunmetal tone polished chromed finish recessed detail metal frame molding, with an attached hanging wire on the reverse back side for easy wall installation.

It is in excellent " like new " condition. The poster print is in excellent " like new " very clean vintage condition consistent with age and light signs of handling.
