This armchair comes from the progressive Pro-Pos series by the Hulmefa company in Nieuw Pekela. The most famous chairs in this series are the "Koehoor/Cowhorn chairs." What many people don't know is that, in addition to these chairs, Tijsseling and Hulmefa also released other furniture in the distinctive and, at the time, very progressive Pro-Pos series. With its amazing design and beautiful details, this type of armchair can rightly be called a Dutch Design Classic! The finish, the use of materials, and the distinctive design, combined with the fact that this model is almost exclusively found in the Netherlands, make the armchair very rare and sought after on the international market. This piece of furniture can be compared to the best Danish design in terms of both design and finish and use of materials. The details make this piece of furniture; just look at the beautiful design of the armrests where they transition into the backrest. Made from solid teak, this is a fine example of craftsmanship. This piece has recently been completely restored, with everything being addressed, including the woodwork and construction as well as the filling and upholstery. This armchair is in mint condition.
