A Vanity Fair chromolithograph of "Ossie" by Sir Leslie Ward, English. Ossie was Captain Oswald Henry Ames. Signed in plate Spy (Ward's pseudonym). A hilarious description, taped to the back, of this over 6' 8" (note the tiny chair!) giant of a man, a Captain in the Life Guards. Dressed for dinner out, he regularly turned up at the wrong house, on the wrong night, etc. Published Vanity Fair, London, Feb 27, 1896, Men of the Day series No. 643.
Framed: 20 3/8" x 14 3/8".
