A rare find looking for a new home.
Offered is a large Bronze bell hung from the teak bracket. The bell is flared at the bottom, and has Chinese motif etched dragons, clouds, and Yin-Yang symbols on the surface.
While this piece may perhaps have been used as a Temple bell, there is no identification or writing. The nautical braided knotted rope bell-pull and Teak bracket indicate this may have been used on a ship or boat.
If you choose to install this on the exterior of your home, we suggest professional installation - it really is very heavy. Has the original clapper and hanging hardware.
The teak logs measure 2.5" x 2.5" and the vertical one is 24" long and the horizontal one is 12".
The bell measures 9.5" diameter and hangs 9" from the bracket, so could be a bit taller. The bell pull is 9" long. The total weight is approximately 60 lbs.

- The Teak wood bracket is original and appears to have been attached to the exterior of a house as we … moreThe Teak wood bracket is original and appears to have been attached to the exterior of a house as we found paint chips on the rear surface, but they quickly came off. The bronze bell is in overall good vintage condition and has age-appropriate patina. It has been cleaned with a gentle cloth but we made no effort to polish it clean as it has aged naturally. The rope bell-pull could be more recent than the original bell, but it's clean and the bell works almost TOO well (it's very loud). Any wear is commensurate with its age and past handling. less
