Shiebler was known for his Greco … Read more This tiny 14k gold Mars warrior charm was molded from an original Shiebler bracelet. Shiebler was known for his Greco and Roman warriors and his homeric medallions, popular during the Victorian era. Shiebler’s warriors are hard to find, and this pendant captures the definition and a clean profile of the warrior. Shiebler envisioned his pieces as having been excavated from the earth, like ancient treasures that date back to Ancient Greece or Rome, and he would often purposely include indentations and scuff work to create the illusion of an ancient piece. Those details translated nicely into the 14k gold pendants, and we love the ancient feeling of these medallions.

This medallion features the profile of the Roman god Mars, also known as Ares in Greek mythology. Mars was the god of war and is often seen as the archetype of masculinity and the counterpart of the goddess Venus.

The pendant measures 1/2” across with a 4 x 5.8 mm bail. It weighs 1.2 grams. Unmarked but acid tests as 14k gold.
