This Really is a Great Looking Antique Early American Stoneware Jar. Circa Early 19th Century. It has Classic Early American Stoneware Salt Glaze Exterior and it is Hand Decorated with 3 Very Nice Stylized Navy - Cobalt Blue Flowers. It is Stamped - Embossed "1 1/2" Denoting in Gallons The Storage Capacity. These These Jars were Typically Used for Jelly's & Jams - Preserved Fruits - Vegetables Etc. It has No Maker Marks but I did Purchase it on one of my Recent Picking Adventures in the Lancaster Pennsylvania Region and I Believe that it is Most Likely From the Baltimore Maryland Region. It is in Very Nice All Original Condition - Strong and Sound - Displays Beautifully. Minor Imperfections Noted - It has a 2 Fine Hairline Cracks - 1 at The Base Area and 1 at the Top Rim - These Can Best be Seen in The Last 2 Photographs in my Listing. It Also has a Few Chips at The Top Rim. The Salt Glazed Exterior has Some Slight Color Variations. It has a Few Glaze Imperfections at the Top Rim that Would Have Occurred in The Making - Kiln Firing Process. These Pieces were Made in Batches and Fired in Large Kilns with Many Other Pieces at the Same Time. It would be Great in Country Primitive Style Kitchen Setting. Truly a Classic Piece of Early Americana.
It Measures Overall Approx.
