It is a fine, hand cast and unusual iron butterfly lantern in the form of a Japanese Monarch Butterfly. Hang in your favorite indoor or special outdoor space. It sits on its own as well.

The unusual mark on the bottom front of this iron butterfly resembles the Japanese kanji character for "work" or "craft" (\(\mathbf{I}\)), and is sometimes found on items like vintage and antique Japanese cast iron garden ornaments.
