The scalloped rim is richly finished in raised gold, typical of early 20th-century German porcelain blanks.
Marked Hutschenreuther Selb with the standing lion hallmark (used 1901–1925).

Around 1900, American and European studio artists often purchased high-end blank porcelain from Bavaria to hand-paint at home or in small studios.
