You will find American wing chairs rather rare when they are of this early circa 1810 date. This would be hard to beat as a cozy reading wing chair next to the fireplace. The deep wings are a characteristic of the Sheraton style, as are the horizontally rolled arms. The cushion is down filled and the fabric is an exceptional red wool damask proper for the period and in very good condition. The turned and reeded legs retain old polished finish with original brass castors. Extensive images are available on request. Additionally, included is the reproduction Chippendale footstool covered in the same fabric.
Please note that this is a different chair than the Sheraton wing that we posted and sold some months ago.
