The restrained blue-and-white palette gives the piece a wonderfully graphic quality while the figural medallion lends it the character of an older Italian decorative object.

At 10.75 inches in diameter, it has enough presence to hang independently but would be especially effective incorporated into a collection of Italian pottery, Delft, or blue-and-white porcelain. It would also look handsome resting on a small easel atop a library shelf, kitchen dresser, or console layered with antique books and collected objects.
