Known as "Regence" chairs in a country French … Read more Gorgeous set of six walnut dining chairs by Minton-Spidell Los Angeles, California. Known as "Regence" chairs in a country French provincial or Louis XV style crafted from thick walnut. The set consists of four side chairs and two host armchairs measuring 26 inches wide and 42 inches high. The frames have an arched back with serpentine shaped aprons and arms. The fabric while being vintage shows well and is very presentable in a silk damask with a classic Fortuny style pattern upholstery fabric. The fabric is bordered by patinated brass tack nail heads. The seat is supported by cabriole legs ending with scrolled feet. The rich walnut finish showcases the woodgrains with an intentionally distressed patina to mimic age. The chairs are in very good, well preserved condition. Sturdy and strong with excellent joinery and craftsmanship. From a grand estate in the Napa Valley, California. Makers labels on bottom of seat. Sold as a set of 6.
