Daum is a renowned French crystal manufacturer founded in Nancy in 1878 by Jean Daum. The company became a leading figure in the Art Nouveau and Art Deco movements, known for its innovative glassmaking techniques and artistic collaborations. Daum's creations are celebrated for their vibrant colors, intricate designs, and exceptional quality, making them highly sought after by collectors worldwide.
This particular centerpiece bowl exemplifies Daum's modernist period, characterized by its sculptural form and the use of clear, high-quality crystal. The freeform, wave-like design showcases the fluidity and plasticity of glass as an artistic medium. Such pieces were often created as statement decorative objects, intended to be admired for their aesthetic appeal and the mastery of their craftsmanship.
