If you love majolica pieces and artichokes, this lidded dish is for you. Probably from Italy or Portugal, the dish is most suitable as a trinket dish or a piece in a majolica collection.
Shaped like an artichoke, the top has a “stem” and the “leave” are created with nice detail.
This piece was probably part of the Majolica Revival in the 1960’s - 1980’s. The bottom is unmarked, however, there is a mark on the inside of the lid which resembles “1973”.
