I believe this to be early 19th century, c.1830's or 1840's, and absolutely a wonderful object for your kitchen! Could be cleaned up and oiled and put right back into service as a kitchen device! Or left as is and placed on a bookcase as a beautiful sculptural object.

It measures 6 3/4" tall and 6 1/4" in diameter, with the pestle measuring 9 1/2" in length and 2" in diameter. It is in very good condition, with age appropriate wear, having no cracks or chips. The interior of the bowl has some surface rusting as shown, which is easily cleaned out and serviceable again with a light oiling. See less
