This large, 287-page book celebrates the artistic and industrial achievements of women from around the world as showcased in the Woman’s Building—an "unprecedented space, curated entirely by women for the Fair."All of the women's artworks are in black-and-white, except for the large, color-tinted front page. Published by Goupil & CO., the preface states, in part, the book perhaps "hastens the coming of the day when woman will be emancipated from restraints..." This hard to find - Original Edition book is in good+ condition. The gorgeous Art Nouveau gold and silver cover, top and edge-stained in gold, is rubbed and lightly worn along the edges, as expected in 132- year-old book.. Only the first few front and few last pages, show water-stain - none damaging the text, which remains clean & bright. The book will be sent carefully packed, boxed and sent with tracking. A perfect addition to any Art Nouveau and late Victorian-era collection, as well as an early preamble to the fight for Women's Equality. See less
