By the late 1870s Louis Prang’s Boston studio was the envy of the printing world — producing color plates so refined that European publishers studied his methods. "The Wild Flowers of America" project was his masterpiece, celebrating native North-American flora in jewel-like detail.
This grouping from Series II, Volume II includes Plates 2, 5, 13, 38, 42, 44, and 48 — each an authentic 19th-century chromolithograph drawn by Helen Sharp and bearing the L. Prang & Co. imprint. Professionally framed in matching Larson-Juhl raw-oak faux bamboo-relief mouldings with archival materials and UV non-glare glazing.
