About the Poster: This 1960s Polish poster, promoting tours of the Warsaw Municipal Zoo, features a vibrant and very intense yellow monkey. We can't decide if he's pondering his next meal or perhaps a zoo visitor who is staring at him. We think he's very handsome in either case. The poster is in excellent condition, is linen backed, and measures 26.25 x 38.5 inches.
About the Artist: Waldemar Swierzy (born 1931) is a Polish artist. He graduated from the Krakow Academy of Fine Arts in 1952. In 1992 the government of Poland issued a postage stamp to honor one of his "Cyrk" posters. Swierzy is one of the Polish School of Posters most prolific artists (having created over 2500 posters).
