This folding, amply-sized rolling cart has a long history, obviously; and wouldn’t we like to have some glimmer of that past! I purchased it in Napa, and like to think of it as having been employed by one of the great restaurants there. Can’t you see it being used to ferry racks of lamb from the cooler to the kitchen of the French Laundry? Or… perhaps groaning under the weight of a hundred goat cheeses at the Auberge du Soleil?

But American!! Boasting sleek, but not too sleek, modernist lines! Yes, it’s “quaint” in a certain way!

I’ve not seen another rolling cart which collapses (in ten seconds or less) in all my travels (virtual and otherwise). Pull up half of the top tray, then the other; the bottom tray advances simultaneously. Then fold in the chromed elements, and voila, you’re ready to roll it into storage or just out of the way!

Yes, it’s been heavily used, as evident from the worn paint on the tray tops and the chrome as well (pitted in some places, adorned with a bit of rust here and there, varying in sheen). If you’re looking for “perfect,” don’t stop here! There’s only one small dent, near the middle of one of the bottom trays, only noticeable upon very close inspection. It functions flawlessly, rolling as smoothly as a marble across the floor.

Taken in a room with an orange-colored pergo floor, the photos show that color reflected on the chrome.
