The company was founded in 1916 and initially made "snake pipes", but realized the tinware had more potential. It has been used because of its non-toxicity and warmth.

The scene surrounding this vase depicts winged birds and mountains in the traditional Japanese style. There's a darker gray/pewter color surrounding the top of the rim, a trio of silver bands at the base of the stem and a mottled silver/pewter base. The vase opening: 1.25in wide, large enough for a bouquet of flowers. If you're a collector of Japanese Satsuma Tinware then make this a "keeper" amongst your collection.
