This 19th-century English set of twelve hand-carved mother-of-pearl knives is pure dinner party theater — engraved with a noble family coat of arms and tucked into its original royal blue velvet presentation box.

Six are luncheon or salad knives (for delicate conversation and light scandal), and six are full dinner size (for the main course and major revelations). Crafted from Sheffield steel — the good stuff — with luminous pearl handles that catch candlelight like jewelry.
