This a beautiful original Hershey’s Cocoa Pie Plate. It was made by Royal China Company located in Sebring, Ohio for Hershey Foods Corporation.
This was made between 1970’s-1980’s. In 1986 the Royal China Company ceased business.
Hershey Foods Corporation took on that name in 1968, in 2005 they renamed the company to Hershey Company. Starting in the 1970’s and 1980’s, is when these items were marked “conventional and microwave oven approved dishwasher safe”.
This is a rare plate to find. It pictures the famous Hershey’s Cocoa tin with a slice of pie ready to eat, then below that is the full recipe. I like the detail of the asymmetrical lines on the rim.
