A beautiful French majolica plate from the famed Choisy-le-Roi faience works of Hippolyte Boulenger & Cie, circa 1880s. This richly molded design features a pastoral relief scene of a mother and child before a country cottage, surrounded by a border of animals and floral motifs.
Rendered in deep ochre, olive, and chestnut glazes, the plate captures the rustic elegance and storytelling quality characteristic of French Victorian-era majolica.
Stamped and impressed “H.B. & Cie Choisy-le-Roi” on verso. A wonderful addition for collectors of antique majolica or French faience, perfect for wall display or a curated tabletop vignette.
