If you're drawn to the timeless elegance and understated charm of the Gustavian-style, this beauty will both delight and serve perfectly, chair side or sofa side, in any space!

Gustavian-style is a more restrained interpretation of French neoclassical furniture. Paint was used instead of gold gilding, creating the original “shabby chic” distressed furniture look. The light and neutral color palette of painted surfaces were done in tones of cream, fawn or white with blue or pale grey undertones, to capture as much light as possible. The subtle elegance and grace of Gustavian-style furniture makes it simple to pair with other interior styles.

This beauty, under the painted surface, was crafted from solid hardwood which we believe to be mahogany wood. The table’s base rests atop ring turned baluster and spool turned legs ending in bobbin feet and finished with a graceful all-around scalloped apron. Corner block metal brackets at the legs securely provide structural integrity and sturdiness to the table. The table’s lovely color palette begins with an intentionally distressed soft chalky cream hue with bluish, grey undertones with touches of the original mahogany wood hue peeking through while still looking modern and fresh. The leaves, when extended, and are kept in place by sliding wood braces. It measures as follows:

With leaves extended: 35½” x 25¼”x 24¼” W/D/H
With leaves down: 18½” x 25¼”x 24¼” W/D/H
Each leaf measures: 8½” x 24¼” W/D
Weight: approximately weight 35 to 40 lbs.

In excellent condition with intentionally distressed finish. There is no makers mark, however are stamped numbers underneath which appear to be a table style number and other numbers indicating the table was made in 1944. We believe to be American made.

From a design perspective, the Gustavian style flawlessly connects tradition with modernity, which makes it a timeless design!
