A rare and substantial pair of German Empire tub chairs with early platform rocker bases, dating to the transitional Empire/Biedermeier period (c. 1830–1850). Crafted of solid beechwood with deep green velvet upholstery, these chairs feature acanthus leaf carving that flows into bold lion paw feet.
