The kimono is beautifully made to look like embroidered silk. There is a lot of gilding on it, and different patterns. The charger looks a lot like a woodblock and is of the same artistry, with heavy enamel paint and gilding. It depicts a beautiful geisha and the platter was signed in Japanese so it was made for the Japanese market. There are signs of age and being fired on a coal fired kiln, which means it's very old, on the platter. I love the character and old world charm of it, and the fact that I cannot find it anywhere. I bought this from the closing of the Asian antique shop. See less
