Beautiful ceramic Waterbury parlor clock will grace any mantel or room. Deep green and cream with gold accents and lovely purple and white floral decoration (looks like pansies and forget-me-nots).
Dial is original paper over tin with Arabic numerals and decorative brass center, with ornate brass bezel and glass door.
Movement is a Waterbury nickel mechanical wind-up "Time-and-Strike" 8-day with cathedral coil spring gong chime.
Two winding arbours on the dial control the chime/strike and timing mechanisms. One key is included.
Movement is stamped: "Waterbury Clock Co. USA Patented Jan 13 1891"
Movement is also stamped: "C.R.C. 4/24/56", indicating that the mechanism was worked on by C.R. Crookshank in Los Angeles in 1956. Small paper tag on back also indicates it was in his care at least once.

This mantel/parlor clock has been in a single family since early 20th century. It has been well maintained for nearly a century and ran beautifully until stored in 2019.
Currently, clock is wound but ticks only briefly and stops. Will strike on hour (hour count) and half-hour (single strike).
Good original vintage condition. Ceramic has no chips, scratches or cracks. Minor wear, consistent with age. Minute hand is very delicate.
Chairish sells clocks only with display as the intended use. The mechanical elements are not guaranteed to be in working order by Chairish.
