These vintage … Read more An Italian near-pair of curule, or savonarola chairs, with brown leather and brass accents, from the 20th century. These vintage curule chairs from Italy, also commonly called savonarola chairs, are defined by their signature semi-circular frames which connect where the upper frame adjoins with the lower at their front side and back sides. The chairs have iron frames with decorative brass finials topping the shoulders as well as the knuckles. Seats, back-rests, and arm pads are in brown leather, which is in good condition. The iron armature of the legs terminate into brass feet. Note that this is a near-pair of chairs, as one of the chairs is slightly taller and wider than the other (with the taller chair also likely being older). The taller chair is also a half-inch wider than the shorter one. This near pair of Italian savonarola chairs will be a handsome addition to your foyer, living room, or study.
