A sought after collector's item known here in Spain as a "Dorillo" These bowls are typically dug out from a solid piece of Holm oak which has a burr in it, thus making the bowl extremely heavy and durable (this example weighing almost 2kg). These bowls were considered prized possessions and handed down from generation to generation, used for many jobs around the house such as milking, butter making, dough making to metion but a few. It retains a beautiful rich deep patina. There are also some old iron stable repairs in the splits. The bowl shows signs of age, wear, splits, cracks around the edges consistent with its age. See less
