The detailed Pen Shell has … Read more Vintage: C.1970's, Maitland-Smith, tessellated stone with pen shell inlaid decorative keepsake box, and/or Jewelry Box. The detailed Pen Shell has a V-shaped pattern to offset the brass details, while giving it distinction, with that simple, and refined detail, offsets the overall look singularly and distinctly. Offsetting color combinations of slight t soft pinks, creams and browns. Art Deco inspired design motif. Made in the Philippines, as stated by original sticker affixed to the base bottom, felted protective cover, inset ALSO Felted lined interior. the gorgeous piece is supported by brass undulating ball feet, as well as having an attractive, atomic-style handle in which to lift and close easy peasy and maintain the quality and condition of the tessellated stone exterior. Very well maintained as images indicate. These were especially made for the distinctive interior, Manner of the venerable Karl Springer, the Eponymous Designer reflective of a great many pieces such as this. See less
