The body applied … Read more This stunning antique coffee pot is of tapered cylindrical form with a tuck-in base bordered by palmettes. The body applied with large palmettes linked by scrolls below a band of chased flowerheads and scrolling foliage within delicate beading. The upper body also with oval reserve perfect for an engraved monogram and with short spout decorated with cast rocaille. Te rod handle at right angle to spout as seen on French coffee pots dating from the 18th century. The hinged domed cover chased with leaf-tips and with berried bud finial. Marked on the underside with maker's mark for Moritz Elimayer, who worked in Dresden in the late 19th century. The underside also with marks for German silver of the period. See less
