These high-quality reproductions of the wire stools Harry Bertoia designed in the 1950s for Florence Knoll were manufactured with chromed-steel lattice frames and completed with detachable leather seat pads. Stylish and minimalist, but hugely practical and suitable for use in any number of settings: hospitality, commercial, and residential. Offered as a pair.
In 1950, Knoll invited Bertoia to join her newly established factory in East Greenville, Penn., confident that he would produce something extraordinary if allowed to experiment. The resulting Bertoia Collection, introduced by KNOLL INTERNATIONAL in 1952, consisted of five light and airy seating elements made from grids of welded steel wire. Recognized as one of the outstanding achievements of 20th-century design, the collection’s commercial success was immediate.
