There is a lock present without a key, though the seam divide under the lock is wide enough to retrieve coins.
Black leather with metal button eyes and leather loop feet that are more decorative than supportive, as the hippo does not sit stably on a surface.
Good, vintage condition with wear consistent with age - a rectangular patch of faded leather present, presumably where a label or adhesive had previously been removed, fading, ear flap losses, and general patina/scuffing to the leather.
Remains a charming decorative object in naturally aged, original condition.
