Richly figured rosewood veneer top with molded edge over classic barley-twist legs joined by a spiral stretcher; splayed bases on brass casters for easy placement. An elegant English Victorian form (circa 1860–1880) that works beautifully as a library table, hall table, or behind a sofa. A handsome, characterful piece that brings English warmth to your decor and ready for your home.
COLLECTOR'S NOTE:
Rosewood was one of the most prized exotic woods of the Victorian era, imported at great expense from Brazil and India. Its deep, variegated figuring made it especially desirable for fine parlor furniture. Barley twist legs, a revival of 17th-century designs, enjoyed a resurgence during Queen Victoria’s reign as symbols of craftsmanship and ornamental flourish.
