Previously misattributed to Otto Prutscher, their authorship was clarified thanks to a recently discovered original Thonet catalogue card from ca. 1926/27, now held in the Thonet archives.

Crafted from solid beech wood stained in a deep mahogany tone, the chairs feature graceful lines, scalloped top rails, and intricate architectural backrest detailing—hallmarks of Siegel’s refined aesthetic, which bridges Viennese Secessionism and early Modernism.

Both chairs have been professionally restored by a specialist studio dedicated to the preservation of rare design icons. Their structural integrity has been preserved while respecting the historic character of the woodwork. Each chair bears the authentic Thonet trademark, confirming provenance and original manufacture.
