Bears its manufacturer's label. In 19th-century Hungary, furniture making in Debrecen was characterized by the production of bentwood chairs, a process pioneered by Michael Thonet. While Thonet himself was a major international figure, a Hungarian company also named Debrecen existed, producing similar bentwood chairs and other furniture in the late 19th century for the Austro-Hungarian market. These chairs were characterized by their steam-bent wood and stylish designs, similar to Thonet's iconic style.
The stand is 35 1/2" tall x 18" x 18".
