This wonderful advertising poster is a true gem of early 20th-century Spanish Modernism. Created by Francisco de Cidón in 1903, he used color lithography on paper to capture this wonderful print in pure European Art Nouveau style. This particular piece won the first poster prize organized by the Ladivfer perfumery for its advertising posters. Signed and dated on the plate by the artist (F. de Cidón, 1903). Stamped in the left corner by the publisher "Reclam's Font Barcelona."
Francisco de Cidón Navarro was a leading exponent of early 20th-century graphic arts, creating a multitude of advertising posters and magazine works. He even won the poster competition for the Pilar festival in Zaragoza in 1926 and 1927. Training alongside the legendary Joaquín Sorolla, Francisco de Cidón became an internationally renowned poster artist whose name is synonymous with the beginnings of advertising in Spain. He was the first to implement the image of the Aragonese regional costume. He collaborated with renowned poster artists such as Alexandre de Riquer and Ramón Casas in numerous competitions, such as the Codorniu winery competition in 1898, where Casas won second prize and Cidón third. His designs were characterized by their precision and use of spot colors combined with a modernist touch. I have official proof of authenticity such as vintage catalogs,
