Aquarius liquor glasses reflects mid-century American crystal design characterized by architectural clarity and sculptural stemwork.
Each glass features a clear and deeply curved bowl that sits on a diamond style faceted stem. This very rare & unusual stem creates a prismatic profile associated with the various types of crystal glasses in the Aquarius pattern. It’s hard to find these types of glasses as they are very coveted so I feel fortunate to be able to offer a set for sale.
These rare glasses were manufactured by The Bryce Glass Company. This unusual Aquarius pattern emphasizes light refraction through geometric cutting rather than the typical ornate surface etching on bowls.
Offered are three different styles in each pair, 2 cordials,
2 Champagne coupes and two water goblets. The scale of the cordials is ideal for liqueurs, and after-dinner spirits, aligning with high level formal entertaining. The water goblets are ideal for water, juices and any type of spirits one can imagine. The champagne coupes are of course ideal for champagne! One can appreciate the bubbles in the wide rounded shaped bowls!
The substantial crystal construction provides a lovely visual weight while maintaining balanced proportions.
Measurements:
the Water Goblets are 6 11/16" Tall, 3 1/16" Across at the Rim, 2 15/16" in Diameter at the Foot, and Weigh 8 ounces
Champagne coupes measure
3.75" tall and 3.5" in diameter.
Cordials measure 3” in diameter and 3.68” tall.
PROVENANCE: details of glasses: Purchased from a Pacific Heights San Franciscan estate sale that catered specifically to dealers. They came directly from a well loved San Franciscan collection. Photos above include original catalog photos of various styles including the Aquarius pattern manufactured beginning in the 1950’s until 1970’s. See less
