Front Design
• Central Motif: Each plate features a colorful bird perched among flowering branches, likely a pheasant or exotic long-tailed bird. The bird is rendered in vibrant hues of blue, green, gold, and red.
• Floral Accents: Surrounding the bird are clusters of blooming pink roses with green foliage, painted in a delicate, almost botanical style.
• Border: The rims are adorned with an intricate geometric pattern in teal and gray, interspersed with small cartouches that each frame a cluster of roses. A thin black scalloped line encircles the inner well, framing the central scene.

Condition
• The plates show visible crazing (fine crackling in the glaze), which adds to their antique character.
• They are mounted with metal spring hangers, indicating they were intended for decorative display.

Backstamp
• The reverse bears a green maker’s mark:
• “Reproduction of Yung-Chêng porcelain period 1723 to 1735.”
• “Corona Ware, S. Hancock & Sons, Stoke-on-Trent, England.”
• Additional text: “Rockery & Pheasant, Rd No. 821192.”
• This identifies them as 20th-century English reproductions by S. Hancock & Sons, imitating Chinese porcelain designs from the early Qing Dynasty (Yongzheng period). The specific pattern is named “Rockery & Pheasant.”
