The most … Read more The woman's left hand is made of wood, with a leather hood, modeled after long Victorian women's gloves. The most remarkable feature of Gillingham's hand is the jointed fingers, which he created, using only delicately carved wood and hidden pins. Although the fingers themselves weren't particularly practical, they were crafted with skill and restored a sense of normalcy to their users, especially women, and also restored their appearance. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
